The Clown & the Fuhrer

The Clown & the Fuhrer (El pallasso i el Führer)

Hitler loved Charlie Rivel so much that he commanded the most famous clown of his day to perform for his birthday. To make matters worse, the talentless SS officer, Krauss, insists that he perform alongside the entertainer. The contrast between the gentleness and innocence of a clown trapped in the barbarity of Nazism reflects the relationship between art and politics in the immense circus of human life.
