Lisa Azuelos*s insouciant comedy tells the story of four very au courant Sephardic women living in Paris. All aspects of their lives eventually become intertwined, from their romances and children to their beauty-parlor business and yo-yo dieting. Each woman is quirky yet recognizably archetypal, and the connection they share when they are together is both female and Jewish, worldly and attractive as they struggle to balance their needs, careers, families, and loves.
